Gertie & Mabel is a small family run business. We believe that customer satisfaction is paramount and nothing is too much trouble! Our aim is to provide a friendly and efficient service, and whilst we will always strive to do our best, we admit that we won’t always get it right - we’re only human after all, but we will endeavour to resolve any problems as quickly as possible.

All orders placed after 3pm will be processed the following working day. If you place an order on a Thursday after 3pm it will be processed the following Monday.
How to Order
Please feel at ease when ordering with us as we provide a very safe and secure online system.
Ordering with us is so simple. Just select the items you wish to purchase by clicking the ‘Add to Basket’ button. Once you have added an item to your shopping basket you can then view your order, change the quantity or remove any items if you so wish.
You can ‘Continue Shopping’ or if you want to pay for your purchase choose your country destination from the menu provided. This will then apply the appropriate postage amount to your basket. Finally select the ‘Start Checkout’ button.
Once you have finished shopping, proceed to ‘Start Checkout’ and select payment type.
We accept the following forms of payment;
Once you have paid for your order an automated confirmation email will be sent to you. Please keep this safe should you need to contact us regarding your purchase.
We update our website as frequently as possible only adding products to it when available. This helps us to give you a fast and efficient service.
Prices
Our products on this website are quoted in Pounds Sterling £.
If you place an order for despatch from outside the UK, once your parcel reaches your selected destination country, any customs or import duties levied will be your responsibility. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges and have no way of predicting them.
Handmade
Some of the products on our website are handmade by ourselves. Should you wish to contact us with regards to a bespoke order please allow between 7 – 14 working days within which to receive your item. This gives us time to produce, pack and post.
Packing Your Order
Here at Gertie & Mabel we care about the environment. Wherever possible we will recycle our packaging which is clean and fit for reuse. We want you to be delighted when opening your parcel and this is why we take a lot of care and attention when packing your order.
Delivery
We aim process and despatch your order Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) within 48 hours of receiving your order. Orders received after 3pm will be processed the next working day.
In the event we temporarily run out of an item of stock from your order, we will notify you of the delay and despatch as soon as it arrives. Our aim is to maintain these high standards, giving you the best possible service.
At the time of ordering you must provide us with the correct delivery address, as we cannot be held responsible for orders that are not delivered or returned should the address be deemed as ‘unknown’ or of ‘no such address’ by Royal Mail.
Your address will be displayed on your confirmation email, please check that this is correct. If not, do contact us as soon as possible by email or telephone.
We want your parcel to arrive safely in your hands which is why we have chosen to use the Royal Mail Recorded Signed for Service where available. As standard we always obtain a certificate of posting for every order, should there be any postal issues.
We believe our postage rates are competitive and so we reserve the right to make any changes to our pricing in order to give you the best possible service.
We are not responsible for any delays with the postal service as these are beyond our control. In failure of delivery of your goods through our own cause, we will be accordingly liable and our liability shall therefore be limited to the price of the goods.
The Royal Mail will only classify an item as ‘lost’ after a 15 day period. Under these circumstances, should your order fail to arrive, please get in contact with us by email or telephone.

Cancellation
When making a purchase with Gertie & Mabel, you are therefore adhering to our terms & conditions. Please be sure that you want your item before proceeding to the checkout.
If you wish to cancel your order (once accepted by us) you may do so up to the point of despatch. If you decide to cancel your contract with us within this time, any payments made by you we will be entitled to a full refund within 30 days.
Returns & Refunds
We want you to be happy with your purchase from Gertie & Mabel. We take the very best care and attention when packing your order. Should you wish to return any items, please ensure that they are posted back to us in the original condition with which they were received including packaging.
All products are covered by the ‘Consumer protection Act (distance selling) Regulations which allows for a seven day ‘cooling off period’ which you may cancel your order (in writing) by sending us a letter or email. This should be done no later than 7 working days after receipt of goods.
All items should be returned back to Gertie & Mabel within 7 days from the date from which they received their purchase. Regrettably delivery and collection charges are non refundable.
A receipt and proof of your purchase should be presented prior to refund.
Handmade Orders
Regrettably, we cannot accept any cancellations for specially requested orders handmade by us.
Faulty & Damaged Goods
We take every bit of care to check your order for damage or defects prior to despatch. We also ensure that your purchase is very well packaged. Should you wish to report a problem with your order please contact us within 24 hours of receiving delivery of goods either by email or telephone. After this time, we cannot accept responsibility for damage or faults reported.
Yes we will refund if:
- you notify us within 24 hours
- you return goods to us within 7 working days
- Goods are received in the original condition with which they were sent.
Description of Goods
We take great care ensuring that all our products on the website are as described and presented with clear photographs.
Please note however, that computer screens and browsers differ and therefore colour representation on photos may vary, this is something we cannot control and therefore cannot accept responsibility.
